Cell Arranger — 18650 & 21700 Battery Pack Layout Planner
Cell Arranger is a free, browser-based tool for spot-welded lithium battery pack builders. Set your cell
holder size and the series (S) and parallel (P) configuration, and it finds the cell arrangements that allow
the most nickel strips between series groups — the layout with the lowest interconnect resistance and the
smallest voltage drop under load. It supports 18650, 21700 and other cylindrical cells, in square or
hexagonal holders, with 2D and 3D views. Please enable JavaScript to use the interactive planner.
How it works
A pack is split into S series groups of P parallel cells. Consecutive series groups are joined by nickel
strips welded wherever their cells touch; more touching cells means more parallel nickel bridges and lower
resistance. Cell Arranger partitions the holder into contiguous equal groups and orders them so the weakest
series junction is as strong as possible.
FAQ
What does 14S6P mean? 14 series groups of 6 parallel cells — 84 cells; S sets voltage, P sets capacity and current.
Why does arrangement affect resistance? More cell-to-cell contact between consecutive series groups allows more parallel nickel strips, lowering interconnect resistance and voltage drop.
Is it free? Yes — it runs entirely in your browser and works for 18650, 21700 and 26650 cells.
